Don’t miss an incredible weekend of cultural beauty as the Children’s Museum hosts May’s FINE Artists in Residence, the Tsawa Monks of Gaden Jangtse Monastery. The monks are touring the United States on a 2012 World Peace Cultural Tour.

The entire Studio is themed with Tibetan Cultural activities for all ages including sand mandalas, prayer flags, thangka painting and a touch table of artifacts and photos from Tibet.

MONDAY, MAY 21st
A Community of Peace for Healing at First United Methodist Church

The Gaden Jangste Tibetan Buddhist Monks will be in residence in the Fellowship Hall during the week of May 21-24. The monks will be creating a sacred sand mandala with an intention for healing on a platform for public viewing and shared prayers for healing. Donations are appreciated, but not required.

Schedule: Opening Ceremony, Monday, May 21, final dissolution ceremony on Saturday, May 24 around 7:00 pm.

Their visit will begin with an opening ceremony on Monday evening, May 21 at 7:00 pm. Please join Reverend Gail Sophia Ransom and the monks for an interfaith chanting service with the Worship Jam and other faith traditions on Wednesday, May 23 at 7:00 pm. On May 24, a closing ceremony  will begin at 7:00 pm for a dissolution of the sand mandala. Chanting and prayers will be a part of each day in residence so please join us with your intentions for healing.
